Tamagotchi

Tamagotchi

Description:

I was tasked with designing my own Tamagotchi in Figma, utilizing prototyping to bring it to life. I created a custom case, designed my own creature, and developed several animations to make the Tamagotchi fully interactive. This was my most ambitious project in Figma to date.

Year: 2024

Tools: Figma, Spline, Premiere Pro

Project Type: User Interface, Protoyping, User Experience, 3D Modelling

Reflection

This project was a major undertaking for me, filled with both challenges and rewarding moments. For the first time in a while, I dedicated a significant amount of time to a project outside of class. I knew I couldn’t afford to leave it until the last minute or treat it as an afterthought, so I worked on it nearly every day—sometimes even pulling all-nighters to make progress.

While I’m not entirely satisfied with my model and regret using Spline due to its limitations, I’m still proud of what I accomplished. Putting in the time and effort truly paid off, and this project stands out as one of my most meaningful experiences.

I learned a lot throughout the process, and despite the hardships, it was a valuable experience—one I can proudly showcase in my portfolio. The prototyping and iterative improvements were especially significant for me. I often hesitate to make changes, but with guidance from my professor and peers, I embraced feedback and consistently refined my work rather than settling for the bare minimum.

Although I wish Fletcher was modeled better, I still consider this one of the best projects I’ve ever worked on.
